Future Farmers of America

All of these pictures of livestock are all fair projects owned by FFA members.
this is a picture of my friends pigglets. (left) hambonita & (right) pork rine. they are being raised for sharing at fair and then to be auctioned off for consumption.
this is my fair project. this is a hampshire market lambnamed Martin. he is my buddy.
these are turkeys at the high school that are a part of the turkey co-op.

The Future Farmers of America is an organization composed of three elements:

What is an understory? The understory is the part of the forest that grows under the tree canopy. It's a shady area made up of a mixture of plants which usually need more light to leaf out and grow.

And that's what our project is about. Shining a light on how a diverse group of rural residents in the forested Sierra foothills of California are creating new paths toward community revitalization.

This blog is about community, collaboration, and change. It's a space to bring together a network of people who are interested in the community renewal efforts of the Blue Mountain towns of West Point, Wilseyville, Glencoe, and Railroad Flat in Calaveras County.

A group of Blue Mountain area youth are using cameras and computers to share their perspectives and showcase local change efforts. We invite you to view their work, give feedback, and share your own stories of community change.
