Happy August all! Dog days of summer are here and, with the heat and family vacations and gatherings, traffic is a little slower on the blog.
But Alan Willard is out to change that--he'd like to see more folks in the Blue Mountain area using this forum for posting announcements, sharing news and views, and having an on-going conversation about what folks are doing to revitalize the area.

For those who do take a peek the next farmers market at the youth center will be Aug 24th . Also as a benefit to bike riders and potential bike riders Liz at the center is initiating a program of bike repair and rebuilding for the purpose of providing bikes for those who can't afford them. Also it will help kids learn how to fix their own bike or make them easier to ride in our hilly area.. If you have a serviceable bicycle that is not in use consider a conversation with Liz. Stop in at 364 main, give a call @ 293-4500 or e mail Liz ebonner@bmcyf.org down town West Point.
Glad to hear there is another farmer's market. I'd like to hear more about what the market is like, who is selling and coming, and who is organizing it all. Seems like a great way to continue to revitalize the area economically as well as culturally. i also really like hearing about the bike repair program. there is one here in davis called "the bike church" which is student run but community centered and helps folks learn to fix their bikes. Liz might want to check it out. it's at the UCD Domes (student housing).
