Vicki Snead-Hickell, one of the community project advisors, wrote me yesterday to say that she'd screened the Up from the UnderStory Video at the Lion's Club last Tues night. She said: "They were very impressed. Tom Bauder, Lions' President, said he didn't realize so many people were doing so many things for the community. Pat Franco thanked us for showing it and commented that it was really worth while seeing."
Vicki let me know that her husband John Pellitti (the storyteller in the digital story on the Blue Mountain Players) is going to try to show it to the VFW and the West Point Benefit Club, among others. Yeah!
I sent a copy of the video to each of the storytellers, gave copies to the libraries, schools, and community access TV channels, and the participating youth and collaboration organizations all have copies to. There are some 40 DVDs of the project floating around the Blue Mountain Area and other parts of Calaveras County. My hope is that with so many copies available, that folks will set up screenings and pass it around.
If you hold a screening or hear any feedback on the project--let us know!
